6 Podcasts I’m Listening To Right Now
Confession: I’m now a full-blown podcast-head. I’m also always looking for new podcast recommendations.
Plus, if you’ve heard anything from me in the last month, it’s been all about how I just launched my very own podcast.
If you somehow missed that news, check out this post on my debut announcement.
I love the medium and totally think it’s the way of the future. With everything turning digital, it’s no wonder podcasts (aka little audio books or shows for your ears) is where content is going (or already gone, depending on who you talk to and how long they’ve been listening to podcasts). Either way, I couldn’t be happier to be apart of this shift.
While my own podcast is of course about travel (surprise, surprise), the podcasts I listen to are all over the place. From crime and comedy to heart-felt and internet-y, I really cover a variety of genres.
Which is truly the beauty of podcasts. One day I can listen to some self-help spiritual jargon and the next I could be deep into an analysis of Kevin Durant’s trade to the Golden State Warriors.
So if you’re new to the podcast game or you just want some suggestions on other shows to listen to (while you’re waiting for the new episode of Unmapped to come out, of course), here are the six podcast shows I’m currently obsessing over:
My Favorite Murder
My. favorite. podcast. It’s a comedy podcast about real-life murder stories all around the world, told by two hilarious, bad-ass chicks. If you’re into true crime stories, you will love this, and are definitely a fellow Murderino. #SSDGM
Millennial (Season 1)
Millennial is a huge reason I got into the style of podcasting that I did. Season 1 of this show follows Megan Tan on a journey post-college, navigating all the real shit that millennials face. Her authenticity and storytelling techniques played a big part in my own creation of Unmapped. It gets up close and person with Megan, and she lays it all out there as she follows her career dreams.
Killing On The Cape
A new podcast that’s also about – a murder.
I swear, I’m not a psycho-path. I just really like murder mysteries! Killing On The Cape is produced by an ABC News investigative reporter and follows the mysterious killing of a woman in Cape Code. I’m two episodes in and I’m hooked.
2 Dope Queens
Two super funny chicks with brilliant minds that discuss all types of things – from sex, romance, race, hair, New York, and everything in between. Expect some good laughs in this part stand-up, part storytelling podcast.
My inner nerd loves this show. Reply All is a podcast about the internet, and so much more. It’s a smart and funny way of understanding the modern world we live in.
A behind-the-scenes look at the band, We The Kings. You probably know them from their song Check Yes, Juliet or maybe from they’re YouTube vlogs, but what you probably don’t know is that these guys are fucking hilarious. They meet up during their tour or at home and talk about what life is like being a rock star.
Got any other podcast recommendations for me? Leave them in the comments below. xx
