The past few weeks of summer have been a whirlwind. Once my birthday hit, the activities and adventures have pretty much been non-stop.
Next up… skydiving!
Despite our parents, family & friends thinking we’re absolutely crazy for WANTING to leap out of a moving plane, I gifted two tandem jumps with 516-Skydive to my brother for his 21st birthday.
Let’s be honest, neither one of us knew what we were really in for.
But hey, we’re both adrenaline junkies, and I don’t think there’s much more of a rush you can get then diving out of a moving airplane.
After strapping up and hopping into the tiniest plane I’ve ever been inside in my life, we took off and soared 10,000 feet above Long Island, New York.
All’s fun and games until they open the door of the plane. That’s when you have the…. holy-sh*t-why-am-I-doing-this? moment.
Because free falling 10,000 feet above Earth is a pretty awesome feeling. You’re a little short of breath and your heart is pumping but you can’t help but smile and look out at the horizon. It’s terrifying and amazing at the same time, and it’s over in less than a minute!
Parachute deploys, and you soar back down to the ground with just a taste of what it feels like to be a bird.
If you’re in the New York area and want an incredible time skydiving, I highly recommend 516-Skydive. These guys are professionals, yet laid back and make the whole experience an awesome joy ride.
